Nice change

Lat  9.32 S Long 159. 35 W Course 306 T Speed 4.5 knots Wind North East 10 knots

December 29, 2016 Leg 2 Day 9 @ 4 am

10 knots of North East wind for the last 9 hrs ( since 7:00 pm last night ). Sailed 55 nm and made 38 miles to the good. Batteries 12.9. Charged the InReach tracker and have the computer charging now. Starry night, possibly sunny day (more volts from solar as well as wind) All good.

Back to my bunk. Still very dark but starry sky.

 6 a.m

06:00 am here on board the good ship WW II. We have two reefs in the main (and my patch is holding) one roll in the yankee, the wind has increased to NE 15-20 knots, batteries are at 13.17 volts and the sun is rising to reveal patchy low cloud, moderate seaway, speed is 6+ knots, course 316 T.

I won’t go on and on about it but a nice change from yesterday and I hope it stays. Just above 9’24 S and 159.40 W. Time for breakfast.

  2. Glad you are getting some wind Glenn. Tough way to get to Hawaii I must say. But well-earned. All the best for 2017 to you and Marylou and kids.

If it isn’t one thing; it is another! Glad to hear most are on an uptick in this latest post. A trip like this really calls upon all of your talents of resourcefulness, resiliency, creativity, determination and plain old grit. You seem to have them all in spades Glenn, as does Marylou. No wonder you are such a great team. Enjoy the last days of 2016. Melissa.
